At Pieper Veterinary, you and your pet will have access to highly advanced care, cutting-edge equipment and facilities, and expertly trained staff members. As pet owners ourselves, we understand that the costs associated with emergency and specialty care can sometimes be overwhelming. We strive to always be as up-front and transparent about billing as possible, and are happy to provide detailed estimates and answer any in-depth questions you might have.

Payment for services is due in full at the time of check-out, with a deposit of the low end of any estimate required for pets undergoing procedures or being admitted to stay with us in-hospital. We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, personal checks, and cash. Due to the high overhead costs of running and staffing a 24-hour hospital, we are unable to accept payment plans. For clients seeking financial assistance, we recommend that you look into these options:

Care Credit

We accept CareCredit, the pet, health, and wellness credit card with flexible, budget-friendly financing options that allow you to pay over time for a range of treatments and services – including procedures, medications, and more.*

*Subject to credit approval.

Fox Memorial Clinic

Fox Memorial Clinic is a hospital in Newington, CT, affiliated with the Connecticut Humane Society. They offer primary care services such as wellness exams, vaccines, x-rays, and euthanasia at discounted rates. Please note that Fox Memorial does not offer emergency services and they cannot accept walk-in appointments.

Low Cost Spay & Neuter

Protectors of Animals offers a low-cost clinic in East Hartford for spay and neuter surgeries and microchipping for both cats and dogs. Special pricing available for feral cats and pitbulls, and all booking is done online through their website. Please note that this clinic is for spaying, neutering, and microchipping only, and they do not offer vaccination or other primary care services.

Trupanion Insurance

At Pieper, we work with all brands of pet insurance, including Trupanion. Trupanion is a pet insurance that offers the option to direct pay to vet offices at the time of check-out, as opposed to the typical insurance which will only reimburse you after you’ve already paid your bill and submitted the claim. Please let our front desk staff know if your pet has insurance when checking in.

501(c)(3) Assistance

Below is a list of local non-profit funds and charities that offer financial grants and crowdfunding options for pets in need of medical care. You can visit each page for more information about how you can qualify for financial assistance. Please note that Pieper Veterinary is not affiliated with any of the charities listed.

Pieper Veterinary Accepts a Variety of Payment Options, Including:

  • Cash

  • Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover
  • CareCredit

We work with all brands of pet insurance, and if you bring in your claim form with you to your visit, our front desk is happy to help you submit a claim.
