Amy Blakeslee, DVM
Veterinarian - Primary Care
Dr. Amy Lamborghini Blakeslee is an Associate Veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary’s Norwichtown Veterinary Hospital, bringing decades of diverse experience to her role. She began her career practicing large animal medicine and surgery in Canterbury, Connecticut for 11 years before transitioning to small animal medicine and surgery in Danielson, where she practiced for 19 years. Today, she provides compassionate small animal care in Norwich, while still occasionally treating farm animal patients—allowing her to maintain a connection to her large animal roots.
Dr. Blakeslee earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Atlantic Veterinary College in 1991 and later completed the Canine Rehabilitation Certification Program in 2021. While she has happily stepped away from surgery, she continues to enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in alternative therapies and exploring both innovative and time-honored approaches to healing.
Inspired at a young age by the novels of James Herriot, Dr. Blakeslee has always been drawn to the meaningful bond between people and animals. She values the variety each day brings and embraces the challenge of complex cases, always striving to provide thoughtful, individualized care.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Blakeslee enjoys spending time on her farm with her husband and their grown daughters. She has four horses and rides as often as possible, with her corgi, Darby, never far from her side.
