Veterinarian - Specialist

Dr. March brings a strong and diverse background in veterinary medicine. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Edinburgh and went on to complete a diagnostic imaging residency, developing expertise in advanced imaging modalities including ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Her clinical experience spans both equine and small animal medicine, with a particular passion for equine sports medicine and imaging. Dr. March’s path into veterinary medicine is both unique and inspiring.

Before pursuing her DVM, she worked in behavioral research and addiction studies, but ultimately followed her longstanding passion for working with animals—especially horses. Her career has taken her from New Jersey to Scotland, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut, shaping her into a well-rounded clinician and educator.

Veterinarian - Specialist

Dr. Allen is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist (DACVAA) with a background in private practice and clinical leadership. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her residency in anesthesia and pain management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

After completing her residency, Dr. Allen practiced in specialty hospitals in Milwaukee and Boston, where she gained experience managing complex anesthetic cases, implementing evidence-based pain management protocols, and training veterinary staff across multiple specialties. She later transitioned into a leadership role based in Connecticut, supporting clinical teams and advancing standards of care across multiple hospitals throughout the northeast US.

Dr. Allen has a particular interest in pain management and regional anesthesia techniques, as well as anesthetic management of critically ill patients. She is passionate about promoting patient safety, comfort, and outcomes through individualized anesthetic care, team education, and multispecialty collaboration.

Dr. Allison Mayne is an associate veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary and part of our rotating small animal medicine and surgery intern class of 2025-2026. A Connecticut native from the town of Ellington, Dr. Mayne earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Siena College in Albany, NY, where she also competed as a Division I athlete in cross country and track. She went on to complete her veterinary education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, finishing her clinical year at Virginia Tech and graduating with her DVM in 2025. Dr. Mayne has a strong clinical interest in surgery and looks forward to further developing her skills in this area during her internship at Pieper.

A lifelong animal lover, Dr. Mayne was inspired to become a veterinarian from a young age, and she remains deeply passionate about the field. She is especially grateful for the opportunity to enhance the lives of animals and their families, finding joy in both simply spending time around them as well as in the chance to help pets feel better and strengthen the bond they share with their humans. Outside of work, Dr. Mayne enjoys baking, hiking, skiing, beach days, and running. She shares her life with two beloved pets: Saint, a German shepherd/husky mix, and Clementine, a orange domestic shorthair cat.

Veterinarian - Primary Care

Dr. Lindsay Tretter is an Associate Veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary who brings a passion for client education and a love for the variety that general practice offers. With three years of experience in general practice, she enjoys building relationships with pet owners and helping them better understand their pets’ health, ensuring each patient receives thoughtful, individualized care.

Dr. Tretter earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri. She has a strong interest in surgery and values the opportunity to continually grow her skills while supporting her patients through all stages of care.

Dr. Tretter always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian—drawn to the profession by her desire to be around and care for animals. She finds it especially rewarding to help both pets and their owners feel their best.

Outside of work, Dr. Tretter enjoys staying active year-round, from skiing in the winter to hiking with her dog. She shares her home with her golden retriever, Franklin, her cat, Twix, and her horse, Mercury.

Veterinarian - Primary Care

Dr. Amy Lamborghini Blakeslee is an Associate Veterinarian at Pieper Veterinary’s Norwichtown Veterinary Hospital, bringing decades of diverse experience to her role. She began her career practicing large animal medicine and surgery in Canterbury, Connecticut for 11 years before transitioning to small animal medicine and surgery in Danielson, where she practiced for 19 years. Today, she provides compassionate small animal care in Norwich, while still occasionally treating farm animal patients—allowing her to maintain a connection to her large animal roots.
Dr. Blakeslee earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Atlantic Veterinary College in 1991 and later completed the Canine Rehabilitation Certification Program in 2021. While she has happily stepped away from surgery, she continues to enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in alternative therapies and exploring both innovative and time-honored approaches to healing.

Inspired at a young age by the novels of James Herriot, Dr. Blakeslee has always been drawn to the meaningful bond between people and animals. She values the variety each day brings and embraces the challenge of complex cases, always striving to provide thoughtful, individualized care.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Blakeslee enjoys spending time on her farm with her husband and their grown daughters. She has four horses and rides as often as possible, with her corgi, Darby, never far from her side.
